Boston Edition- Island Creek Oyster Bar

ICOB is without any doubt the oyster bar that stands out the most in all of Boston. For its energetic staff, amazing decor and undeniably fresh ingredients, this place is unmatched.

Upon walking in to this restaurant, the two things that struck me the most were the lighting fixtures that really emphasized their great selection of oysters all nicely placed in the frozen counter and the wall at the back of the dining room made entirely of oyster shells. How clever!

The raw bar is very impressive with over 12 different types of oysters and a well-informed staff that can help you make up a selection according to your preferences. The Island Creek type (the house specialty) is delicious and it certainly deserves all the hype it gets.

Everything on the menu is dazzling, from the New-England classic and absolutely delicious homemade clam chowder, to the eye-catching fried oyster sliders. The entrees are quite small portions which was perfect considering we had quite a few fresh oysters to start off with.

The drinks are fun and fresh, the wine list is pretty extensive and the passionate staff can definitely help in making selections that will please the members of your party.

If you have any room left for desert, the homemade sorbet is scrumptious and the coffees are very original.
